Origin, diffusion and economic characteristics

The Saxony duck (in German Sachsenenten) is a heavy breed originating in Germany, on average widespread. Selected from the crossing of the Rouen Duck with the German Peking Duck and the Pomeranian Duck.

Morphological characteristics

Country-type duck, powerful, with long and wide trunk, without keel. Maintain good productivity, correct color and design.
Unique coloring: Blue Yellow.

General appearance and characteristics of the breed
1- FORM
Trunk: Long, wide and deep.
Head: Long, with flat forehead.
Beak: Medium long and wide.
Eyes: Large, wide open.
Face: With few cheeks
Neck: Medium long, without appearing thin, worn vertically.
Shoulders: Wide and well rounded on the sides.
Back: Wide and long, slightly inclined.
Ali: Not too long, closed; high flow rates.
Tail: Closed, slightly raised; horizontal range.
Chest: Wide, well rounded, deep, without keel; carried low.
Legs: Powerful legs, hidden in the plumage of the hips; medium long, fine tarsi.
Belly: Well developed.

YELLOW BLUE
MALE
Pigeon blue head and neck up to the white ring which must be closed and must have an average width. Base of the neck and chest with rusty gold, with fine silver edging: the wing coverts are blue gray dusted with rust. Pale blue gray back. Croup, curls and pigeon blue wing mirror. Primary remiges and tail with a floury coloring. The belly is pale blue gray. Gray down jacket. Eyes: dark brown; beak: pale green yellow with yellow claw; tarsi and interdigital membrane: dark yellow; nails: clear.
FEMALE
Pea yellow head, neck and chest; clear eyebrows. The goiter and the upper part of the neck are cream-colored without originating the bib. Light pea yellow back. Wing covers with light blue tint. Pigeon blue wing mirror. Croup and tail with light blue tint. Light down jacket. Eyes: dark brown; beak: brown with yellow claw; tarsi and interdigital membrane: dark yellow; nails: clear.
Serious defects:
Male: absence of the ring; very white in the chest; white bib; dark down jacket. Female: very white in the chest; white bib; dark down jacket; ring as in the male
